The 3 main states of matter are solids, liquids and gases. Here are some examples of a solid: a pencil, bone, speaker, ice and brick. Atoms of a solid are tightly packed together. You can only see them under a microscope.
An example of a liquid is water and powerade. The atoms of a liquid is like a solid but it stays loose.
An example of a gas is steam. Gas is where it goes everywhere and it can spread.
